Travis Tritt’s View

January 6, 2010

Dan Twining at FP has an interesting and optimistic take on America’s future with respect to other world players.  His point is, basically, that America’s problems, which are certainly substantial, are not even close to as significant as the woes of our competitors, most notably China.

My only disagreement would be his disparaging of “our own Schumpeterian excesses of capitalism” as the cause of our financial crisis, and the only thing I would add is that we are not nearly as doomed in terms of our birthrate as everybody else is.  And, of course, the fact that we are solving our own problems the wrong way.

Still a great day to be an American.
