1)   The American public doesn’t care about the Israel-flotilla incident—it followed the Stanley Cup as much as it did that whole spectacle.

2)   Stephen Strasburg did not read a scouting report on the Pirates before he struck out 14 of them in 94 pitches on Tuesday.

3)   Speaking of 94 pitches, the guy who held the record for least pitches taken to strike out 14 before Strasburg was Javier Vazquez when did it in 96 pitches as a Montreal Expo.  Gotta keep that record in the franchise, boys.

4)   More Strasburg: how many wins will he be worth?  Answer: not many, at least this year.

5)   Due to immigration, California has the least-educated workforce in the country.
